Andleg tímavél - Tími og rúm / Spiritual Time Machine - Time and Space, 2026
SÍM Hlöðuloft, Reykjavík, Iceland
group exhibition

The artists participating in the group exhibition Spiritual Time Machine – Time and Space are a group of visual artists who studied together at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts between 1994 and 2000.
The exhibition reflects on ideas of a kind of return, perhaps even a longing for contact, for communication, and for creating with one’s hands. While the subject matters vary, concepts such as connection, empathy, and transformation arise when looking back to the time the group shared during their studies.
The works explore relationships between people, nature, and systems of power, both in the immediate environment and in a broader context. They examine communication and the formation of connections, address the relationship between humans and nature, dreams, natural science, the influence and agency of color, form, formalism, reflections, and dystopian worlds, among other themes. The ideas are developed through diverse approaches and across different media.
By presenting works in which materiality and craftsmanship act as formative forces, an engaging dialogue emerges, both between the works themselves and with the raw space of Hlöðuloftið.

The home is a space where thoughtfully selected objects and furnishings are organized around the everyday needs of those who live there, shaped by both conscious intentions and unconscious emotions. When the home become one’s whole world, there is time and space to grow more attuned to the energy that emerges from this deeply personal relationship. Gradually, the home assumes a life of its own, evolving into a living, autonomous presence.
The three-dimensional works Í sundur og sama / Apart and the same, and Í sundur ... / Apart ... are material constructions of this energy, an embodiment of the home as a place of sanctuary.
Still Life - Inside, 2025
video 6 min
The video work consists of 5 – 10 second composite video clips, recorded in the artist’s home during the winter of 2025. In the piece, we experience the quiet atmosphere that surrounds an individual who has become attuned to their home. The frame moves beyond objective reality and delves into the imagery itself. Various spaces and objects within the home; such as a radiator, windowsill, shadows on the wall, and curtains transform into shapes, colors, and patterns. The frame moves gently in sync with the artist’s unconscious movement.
